Drain Installation Instructions
All leg tub drains should be installed by a qualified, licensed plumber. Please use teflon tape on all threaded connections.
For many years, Sign of the Crab clawfoot tub waste and overflows used 1 3/8" tubing, replicating the original size of clawfoot tub drains. However, all new Sign of the Crab clawfoot tub drains have 1 1/2", matching modern standards. Rough in 1 1/2" male IPS with 1/2" to 1" of threads above the finished floor. The rough in for the drain hole on the floor is a plumb line from the center of the roll rim on the tub to the floor and approximately 4" from the wall behind the tub.
