Tub & Shower Installation Instructions

All tub & shower sets should be installed by a qualified, licensed plumber. Please use teflon tape on all threaded connections.

Rough in the valves from the back of a finished wall, assuring there is a proper distance for escutcheons and handles on the valve stems. Check with valves in open as well as closed positions. Typically valve centers are 29" from the floor and the bottom of the shower head is 78" from the finished floor. The spread between valves is 8" on center for tub or shower sets, and 9" for the tub and shower combination set. ½" iron pipe size water supply tubes connect to the bottom of each valve, where the large nut and ferrule are pointed down. The female threads of each valve are connected to the nipples going to the diverter or the tee.
